College of Engineering
This degree is a personalizable 33-hour, non-thesis multidisciplinary program that enables students to tailor their engineering coursework to align with their interests. It is offered through support from the Center for Research in Engineering and Technology Education (CREaTE), which promotes and celebrates research that improves our understanding of student learning and excellence in teaching.
Take your pick of courses in any of UTEP’s renowned engineering programs such as aerospace or computer science.
Students can obtain practical experience with internships at top companies such as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

Matthew Hilding developed varied interests while in the U.S. Army. As such, the master’s program in engineering offered avenues to explore multiple fields. Hilding relished the chance, earning a fellowship with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Today, he is an electrical engineer with Leidos in Albuquerque.
Program graduates enjoy successful careers in engineering and technology companies in the U.S. and abroad; in service science and engineering companies such as Apple, AT&T, Halliburton, Google and IBM; and in aerospace, defense, energy and manufacturing industries, including NASA and Department of Defense laboratories; and in academic positions.
