Authorization to Recruit
New or anticipated faculty positions are initiated at the department level with the guidance of the respective college and the Provost to strategically realize institutional goals.
- Department chairs or program directors should complete a Request for Faculty Search Form (DeptATR) for each faculty position being requested, then submit the form to the respective academic dean.
- After reviewing all requests, deans should determine the final searches and compile one College Prioritization Spreadsheet (CollegeATR), along with Request for Faculty Search Forms for each position being requested, for the Provost to review.
Upon approval to recruit, the UTEP Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) will provide administrators and search committees support with guidelines for a successful search process. Visit EOO to review guidelines and to set up a search kick-off meeting.
Authorization to Hire
The guidelines below are intended to help deans prepare recommendation packets to move forward with hiring tenure, tenure-track, clinical or research faculty. To expedite the review process, recommendation packets should be sent via email to Tami Keating (firstname.lastname@example.org), Director of Academic Affairs Personnel Services.
