About the Recovery Task Force
The Recovery Task Force was created to develop and provide recommendations to UTEP’s senior leadership team on actions, timelines, resources needed, and policies and procedures related to the campus reopening after being affected by the spread of COVID-19. They will address course delivery methods, facilities that will remain closed or partially open, human resources policies, training, health monitoring protocols, and other matters that, in the view of the group, need to be addressed. Below are a few of the many tasks that are underway across campus:
- Implementing fall course registration and New Student Orientation
- Preparing guidance for campus units to allow them to plan for limited reopening of their units
- Determining the capacities of each room with social distancing
- Drafting a long-term telework policy
- Planning for which fall courses can be taught in person, which could be hybrid, and which could be taught remotely
- Developing training materials and illustrative checklists for every manager to use for planning to return
- Evaluating professional development and training opportunities for faculty
- Determining which services and facilities can reopen while ensuring student safety
UTEP’s campus operations and conditions are indicated using green to communicate an open campus with normal operations; yellow for an open campus with limited social distancing measures in place that do not affect campus operations; orange for restricted in-person operations and strong social distancing measures in place throughout campus; and red, which indicates a closed campus with essential operations taking place online.
