UTEP Receives Next Allocation of COVID-19 Vaccines
Tuesday, January 26, 2021
This morning, we received another shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. We expect to be able to vaccinate about 1,000 more of our most vulnerable Miners during clinics on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 28 and 29 at the Interdisciplinary Research Building.
Those faculty, staff and students who have completed the vaccination questionnaire and consent forms and are in the highest priority groups will get an email to schedule a vaccination appointment. Appointments are required – no walk-in vaccinations will be permitted.
Only those who have signed up and completed all of the paperwork will be contacted for vaccination. If you haven’t done so already, you can sign up here.
Last week, we vaccinated 1,148 people in the highest priority groups. That includes healthcare workers, people involved in the COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs, those who are 65 and older, and those 18 and older who have a health condition that makes them particularly vulnerable to COVID-19.
We will continue to prioritize vaccine distribution according to guidelines from the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Make sure you have completed the questionnaire and consent at vaccinequestionnaire.utep.edu so we can contact you when a vaccine is available.
Warm Regards,Heather Wilson
