Resuming Campus Operations Website Now Live
Thursday, July 02, 2020
Students, Faculty and Staff,
Last week, I shared with you our intention to keep UTEP at the “Restricted Campus” level. We are remaining at “Restricted” operations at this time.
While we have been using our website to answer questions all along, it was getting pretty unwieldy and hard to use. We are launching a new website today that provides tools and information for students, faculty, staff, researchers or managers.
The Resuming Campus Operations website at www.utep.edu/recovery identifies our current recovery level and provides information about activities and requirements for subsequent levels.
The University monitors public health information daily, and decisions about moving from one recovery level to the next will be based on the status of the disease in our community. We’ll give people advance notice of a change, but there is no pre-determined schedule in a circumstance like this.
The website contains information for students, such as how to access many of the University’s student services virtually, as well as guidelines for fall on-campus housing and information for international students.
Members of the faculty will find information on conducting research and teaching while enhanced safety guidelines remain in effect.
Department heads and managers can access information about reporting ill employees, submitting Work/Safety Plans, and can see examples of peers’ plans.
We’ll keep the website updated regularly. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please submit a comment or question through the “Submit Your Questions” feature. If you are wondering about it, someone else probably is, too.
Finally, none of us can afford to ignore the resurgence of disease in our community over this holiday weekend. The best thing to do for each other is to stay home if you are sick, wear a mask in public, wash your hands frequently, and stay 6 feet away from people not in your household.
Happy Fourth of July!
Regards,
Heather Wilson
