The Rangel International Affairs Program Graduate Fellowship Program prepares outstanding young people for Foreign Service careers with the U.S. Department of State. It helps successful applicants to finance a two-year Master’s program, provides two summer internships, and guarantees placement as a Foreign Service Officer upon completion of their degree. The program is named for Congressman Charles B. Rangel, the first African American to chair the powerful Ways and Means Committee, and continues to ensure that the Foreign Service reflects the face of America to foreign audiences. It welcomes the applications from members of groups historically underrepresented in the State Department, women, and those with a demonstrated financial need for graduate school.
