Safety Training Courses

You can participate in a variety of safety training courses — such as CPR or laboratory safety certification — for free! UTEP’s Environmental Health and Safety Department offers safety training classes for UTEP faculty, students and staff. You can rent equipment for your next outdoor adventure at the Student Recreation Center. Gear like tents, sleeping bags, camp stoves and more is available to all students, faculty and staff for a nominal fee. UTEP employees, their dependents and retirees have priority status to see a doctor at the UTEP Employee and Family Care Center with Texas Tech Physicians. Lactation Stations

UTEP has three lactation stations on campus where nursing mothers can express milk or nurse their child in a private, comfortable and quiet space. The newest lactation room is in University Towers room 208. Other available rooms are located in Union Building West room 112 and the Health Sciences and Nursing Building room 400. In addition to the Military Student Success Center in the library, the Military Resource Center in the El Paso Natural Gas Conference Center is a dedicated area where military students and veterans can learn about resources available to them. Cross parking is available on campus when the Miner Metro Shuttle is not in service, such as between academic sessions. With your current UTEP parking permit, you can park in any remote, perimeter or silver lot.
