    Students who attend UTEP come from a unique mix of social, cultural and economic backgrounds that closely mirrors the population of the El Paso community. Sixty-five percent of UTEP’s students are Hispanic and seventy percent of UTEP’s students work while in school, and more than 50 percent are first-generation college students. Students represent 45 states and 67 countries, and more than 8 percent come from Mexico.
