A general introduction to the diversity of eukaryotic autotrophs. The structure, growth, physiology, and importance of the flowering plants as the
dominant land plants will be emphasized. Prerequisites: BIOL 3105-1107 and MATH 4109. MATH 4109 may be taken concurrently with BOT
4210. Laboratory fee required.
Upper-Division Courses--All required lower-division courses in the major must be completed with a "C" or better in order to enroll in upper-division courses in the
major. Some upper-division courses may be applied toward graduate degrees; consult the Graduate Studies Catalog for the listing of these courses.
3330 Comparative Plant Morphology (3-0)
Life histories, phylogenetic relationships of vascular and non-vascular plants. Prerequisite: BOT 4210.
3332 Economic Botany (3-0)
Origin and utilization of plants important to humans, with emphasis on nutritional aspects. Prerequisite: BOT 4210.
3340 Plant Physiology (3-0)
Plant function at the tissue, cell, and molecular level. Prerequisite: BOT 4210.
4337 Plant Taxonomy (2-4)
Characteristics, classification, and phylogenetic studies of native and ornamental vegetation. Prerequisite: BOT 4210.
