General Description. This is Artillery Mountains #3 of Mead et al. (2005). Van Devender and King (1971): Woodrat midden about 3 km northwest of Artillery Mountains A. Present vegetation is Sonoran Desert with some intermixed Mojave Desert elements. Dominant plant fossil plant material consisted of Utah Juniper (Juniperus osteosperma) and Singleleaf Pinyon (Pinus monophylla.
