Master's students are normally admitted into the non-thesis option. A student may transfer (or may be required to transfer depending upon source of support) to the thesis option. Such transfer must be approved by the student's advisor, the graduate advisor, and the Department Chairperson. Students enrolled in the thesis option are required to take at least 24 hours of course work plus thesis (EE 5398-EE 5399 ). Students in the non-thesis option are required to take 36 hours of course work and pass a comprehensive examination. At least 24 hours must be in graduate course work in Electrical Engineering including at least three sets of 6 hour sequences. (Current course sequences are available from the Department.)
