Interested in insects from my earliest recollections, I have continued with this passion in my education and hopefully into my professional career. I have tried to by a well rounded naturalist by hiking, backpacking, traveling, and insect collecting as well as by studying geology, biology, and archeology, and developing my skills in photography and illustrating. In the past I have had a lot field experience helping to investigate pallid bat (Antrozous pallidus) and whiptail lizard (Aspedoceles) diets at UTEP's Indio Research Station, collecting insects in the US, Mexico, Guatemala, and Ecuador, as well as conducting plant surveys for the military in many areas of Fort Bliss. I am currently working on a systematic and possible taxonomic revision of the ant genus Dinoponera. In the future I plan to continue into graduate education and hopefully become a professor or professional researcher at some institution. I would hope to work on some sort of Orthopteroid insects.
