5.- Thesis and Independent Research
3590 Public History Internship (0-0-3)
History work experience in a public agency, museum, archive, history
consulting business, or other business. Evaluation by work place supervisor
and instructor. May be considered for seminar credit if appropriate project
is completed.
3593 Independent Research (0-0-3)
(Open only to Plan II and Plan IV graduate students in history in the final
semester of work.)
3595 Problems in Historical Research (0-0-3)
Emphasizes research, with writing and discussion. To be taken in
conjunction with History 3593, 3598, or 3599. Students will be required to
make a formal presentation of the results of their ongoing research.
Grading will be pass/fail; this course cannot be used for credit toward the
MA degree. Prerequisite: Consent of the Graduate Advisor.
3598 Thesis (0-0-3)
Initial work on the thesis.
3599 Thesis (0-0-3)
Continuous enrollment required while work on the thesis continues.
Prerequisite: HIST 3598.
6595 Problems in Historical Research (0-0-6)

conjunction with History 3593, 3598 or 3599. Students will be required to
