The department offers two programs leading to the MA degree: General Experimental Psychology and Clinical Psychology. The MA in General Experimental Psychology requires the completion of thirty credits, including twenty-four hours of course work and six hours of thesis. The MA in Clinical Psychology requires the completion of forty-five credits, including thirty-three hours of course work, six hours of internship, and six hours of thesis. Information on required courses, which may change from year to year, may be obtained from the Graduate Program Director.

All MA students are required to pass both a written and an oral examination. The written comprehensive examination is given twice a year, in the Fall and Spring semesters. Students must complete the written examination prior to beginning the thesis. The oral examination is the final defense of the thesis before the thesis committee members.
