3.- Degree Requirements for the Master of Science in Nursing

The Department of Nursing attempts to accommodate flexibility in course offerings with respect to weekend, evening, and summer classes. Courses with enrollment of less than five individuals are subject to cancellation.

Graduate students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 (B average) in order to remain in good academic standing. Both thesis and non-thesis options are available. Students who select the non-thesis option must complete and pass an oral comprehensive examination.

Those students who elect the thesis option must complete an oral defense. The research proposal and pilot study completed in previous courses may be used as the basis for the thesis project. Students choosing the non-thesis option complete nine credit hours of graduate electives approved by the academic advisor in addition to an oral comprehensive examination required for the completion of this option.

All degree requirements for the MS in Nursing must be completed within six years.
