Is the event open to the public?
Yes, anyone can register. The Miner Dash and Family Fitness Fiesta are open to everyone and the entire El Paso community is encouraged to participate.
What is the Miner Dash?
The Miner Dash is a 5K run and a 3K walk, and both events have a wheelchair division. The 3K is non-competitive.
Where will the Miner Dash start and finish?
The Start/Finish for the Miner Dash is adjacent to Centennial Plaza, located in the center of campus, west of the Student Union Building (See Map at Race Route).
What is the Family Fitness Fiesta?
The Family Fitness Fiesta is an event to promote a healthy lifestyle and includes a number of fun, health related activities. Kids of all ages will enjoy several activities like inflatables, jumping balloons, and much more. There will also be a Health Fair with great information from several local organizations.
Where will the Family Fitness Fiesta be located?
The Family Fitness Fiesta is located on the grass area of Centennial Plaza in the center of campus and just west of the Student Union Building (https://www.utep.edu/map/).
Where should I park my vehicle for the Miner Dash and Family Fitness Fiesta?
Official Parking for the event is off Sun Bowl Drive in the Sun Bowl Parking Garage and in parking area SB3. On Sundays, all campus parking areas are open except those lots designated as 24/7 faculty parking. A campus map is located at https://www.utep.edu/map/.
What is the cost of the Miner Dash and Family Fun Fiesta?
Early registration for the Miner Dash 5K Run/3K Walk is $25 through Tuesday, October 22, 2024; late registration is $30 and ends Thursday, October 31, 2024. The Family Fitness Fiesta is free of cost. Registration can be completed online at https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/ElPaso/minerdash
May I register for the Miner Dash on-site the day of the race?
No, there will be no race day registration for the Miner Dash. All Miner Dash registration is to be completed online at https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/ElPaso/minerdash
If I register as a participant in the Miner Dash, can I participate in the Family Fitness Fiesta?
Yes, your registration for the Miner Dash includes participation in the Family Fitness Fiesta.
Can I invite my family or friends to the Family Fitness Fiesta?
Yes, your family and friends are invited to the Family Fitness Fiesta.
Will I receive a T-shirt if I am only participating in the Family Fitness Fiesta?
No, participants in the Family Fitness Fiesta will not receive an event T-shirt. Event T-shirts are only provided to the first 350 registrants for the Miner Dash 5K Run/3K Walk.
How do I get my Miner Dash packet and T-shirt?
Your Miner Dash Packet includes your T-shirt and bib number. Packet Pick-up is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM at Memorial Gymnasium (101 W Robinson Ave).
