The MENTE Symposium is designed to engage students from migrant, agricultural/farmworker, and homeless backgrounds in an envisioning experience through personal and academic connections with informative presentations, dialogues, and university place excursions provided by educators, professionals, and advocates. Held annually, the symposium provides a public pedagogical space and platform to allow students to present their personal and educational lived experiences for reflective practice and the development and use of their unique cultural capital. Location: The University of Texas at El Paso Magoffin Auditorium & College of Education
Planned Activities:
- Empowerment Welcome & Pep Rally
- Interactive Presentations and Thoughtshops
- “Scholarships” for Writing Contest Winners
- Included with Registration: MENTE t-shirt & backpack; continental breakfast & lunch
Registration Fee:
- $50 per student (no fee for staff)
Deadline to Register:
- Registration Deadline: Friday, October 18, 5:00pm
- T-shirt Size Information must be received with registration. T-shirts offered only in adult size
