Events like the Sun Country Regional Science and Engineering Fair are at the heart of what UTEP CREaTE stands for — creating pathways for young people in El Paso to discover, explore, and fall in love with STEM. When our team members volunteer as judges, they bring real-world expertise and genuine enthusiasm to an event that can change a student's trajectory.

Sun Country Regional Science & Engineering Fair
Hosted annually at UTEP in partnership with Insights Science Discovery and the STTE Foundation, the Sun Country Regional Science and Engineering Fair brings together hundreds of middle and high school students from across the El Paso region to showcase their science and engineering projects. Top performers advance to the Texas state fair and international competitions.
