Dynamic Color-Reversal Illusion
Here's a new kind of color illusion, based on the Munker illusion: the dynamic color-reversal illusion. I found this illusion while working on "reverse Munker" illusions. When I had the illusory colors as close to even as I could get them, I noticed that zooming in and out caused the colors to shift. You see Munker illusion colors when zoomed out and real colors when zoomed in. I note that these are very difficult to create. First, the effect is a function of the size of the displayed image. Second, it works only with the strongest of the Munker illusions, and even then the effect can be subtle. If you don't see it, try expanding or shrinking the image.

This GIF starts blue on left, green on right. Zooming in, the colors reverse to green on left, blue on right! Of course, the actual colors stay constant. |

Here, the yellow starts on the left, and after the zoom the yellow is on the right, swapping places with the salmon color. Both sides actually stay constant colors. |
