SETS: Your Eyes on the Future

The 2023 Southwest Emerging Technology Symposium

The University of Texas at El Paso’s Aerospace Center and W.M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation are excited to invite you to the annual Southwest Emerging Technology Symposium (SETS). SETS fosters collaborative conversations on cutting-edge engineering research between students, faculty, and professionals from government and industry. Panel discussions, informal conversations, and poster presentations create opportunities fro leaders from government agencies and private industries to share their thoughts on new frontiers in research with UTEP student researchers. Poster presentations by graduate and undergraduate UTEP engineering students center the discussions on current issues in space exploration, renewable energy, additive manufacturing, hypersonics, and more. 

Agency and industry leaders from NASA, Lockheed Martin, Blue Origin, and other partners have attended previous SETSs. 

Students who would like to showcase their research at SETS should email a pdf of their research to sets@utep.edu by March 3, 2023, with “Southwest Symposium Paper” in the subject line.

SETS 2023 will be at the Starlight Event Center (6650 Continental Dr, El Paso, Texas 79925) on April 24 and 25. The Aerospace Center and Keck Center will announce registration information and panel guests on their social media and websites in the coming months.
