Student Success Through Faculty Success
The University of Texas at El Paso is taking measures to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and faculty during the COVID-19 outbreak. On Tuesday, March 24th, the City of El Paso issued a shelter-at-home ordinance to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. All COVID-19 updates can be found at www.utep.edu/coronavirus.
The Center for Faculty Leadership and Development will operate remotely until the ordinance is lifted. We encourage you to contact us by emailing your inquires to cfld@utep.edu.
The UTEP Edge aims to increase student awareness, facilitate access to and engagement in high-impact practices, and guide students to integrate those experiences within and beyond the classroom. While the ultimate goal is student success, the faculty have a major role in designing, developing and implementing progressive, high-quality, integrative and applied learning opportunities. Thus, the quality and excellence of our students, alumni, programs, curriculum, and institution are tightly linked to the quality and excellence of our faculty. Recognizing that the ultimate goal of everything we do is student success, we have an obligation to continuously improve as educators and scholars for the benefit of our students. Thus, the Center for Faculty Leadership and Development aims to create a culture in which high value is placed on professional development and lifelong learning, and to provide increased learning opportunities to support that culture. The center serves as the hub that capitalizes on, and fosters, the rich assets and talents from all ranks of faculty, staff and students in an effort to provide learning, collaboration, and community. While connecting shared academic interests in a trans-disciplinary manner, the center offers communities of practice and professional development opportunities in a variety of areas including Teaching and Learning, Scholarship and Mentoring, Leadership and Engagement, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
