Easy Tips to Get Active!

There are several tools and resources to get you active and build path to a healthier lifestyle. It is as easy as walking, walking is the simplest form to start your days off and it cost absolutely nothing! Walking for at least 30 minutes a day provides heart health benefits. Increasing physical activity can be done at the convenience of your home, work or during recreational play.

At home, where one can be more comfortable and safe. It allows one to set a good example for their children; if you decided to by equipment not only will it benefit you but others can use and benefit as well. It’s easy having short bout of exercise for example, do housework yourself instead of hiring someone. Instead of riding a mower, rack yourself. Go out for short walks before breakfast and after dinner for at least 5-10 minutes. Walk or ride a bike to the nearest stores, stand up while talking on the phone, park farther from an entrance of a store, stretching for items can include a small exercise like a squat or lunge.

At work, brainstorm ideas with a coworker while walking, create exercise accountability partnerships and walk during business calls. Take the stairs instead of elevator, when you go on business trips stay in a hotel with a fitness center or form a sports team to raise money for charity events. Join a fitness center where you can go workout before or after work, schedule exercise times, walk around the building, and master to art of typing while on a treadmill or participate in weight-loss challenges.

During recreational play, plan family outings and vacations that include physical activity like swimming walking the zoo, see the sights in new cities, play your favorite music while exercising, and dance with someone. Take dance lessons, join a recreational club, or when you go to the lake rent a rowboat instead of a canoe.

There are so many ways to stay active; taking some of these tips into consideration can lead one on the right path of being healthy and staying healthy!
