The UTEP Guitar and Piano Areas offer faculty, guest artists, and student performances of Latin Music for three days, where composers and performers of Hispanic Heritage will be celebrated! All performances take place in the Fox Fine Arts Recital Hall and are free and open to the public.

UTEP piano and guitar students launch the 2026 Latin Music Festival with a concert celebrating the music, traditions, and cultures of Latin America. Featuring students from both classical and commercial music degree programs, this performance gives these emerging musicians an opportunity to explore the connections among culture, heritage, and artistic expression while bringing their developing artistry to the concert stage.
We invite our El Paso community to be part of that experience. Your presence and applause affirm the work of these young musicians and help demonstrate that the music and cultures they represent have an important place on our concert stages.

Los estudiantes de piano y guitarra de UTEP inauguran el Festival de Música Latina con un concierto que celebra la música, las tradiciones y las culturas de América Latina. Con la participación de estudiantes de los programas de música clásica y comercial, este concierto ofrece a nuestros músicos la oportunidad de explorar las conexiones entre cultura, herencia y expresión artística mientras llevan al escenario el desarrollo de su talento musical.

The UTEP Latin Music Festival continues Saturday evening with Colombian pianist Dr. Natalia Vanegas Escobar in a solo recital celebrating the rich and distinctive musical voices of her native Colombia.
Passionate about bringing the music of Colombian and Latin American composers to wider audiences, Dr. Vanegas Escobar has premiered several works and made this repertoire an important part of her artistic programming. Her debut album, Colombian Preludes, features piano preludes by Colombian composers Adolfo Mejía and Guillermo Uribe Holguín. Currently a collaborative pianist at Arkansas State University and the University of Mississippi, she brings to UTEP both her artistry and a deeply personal connection to the music she performs.

El Festival de Música Latina de UTEP continúa el sábado por la noche con la pianista colombiana Dra. Natalia Vanegas Escobar, quien ofrecerá un recital como solista dedicado a las ricas y distintivas voces musicales de su país natal, Colombia.
Apasionada por compartir la música de compositores colombianos y latinoamericanos con nuevos públicos, la Dra. Vanegas Escobar ha estrenado varias obras y ha hecho de este repertorio una parte importante de su trayectoria artística. Su álbum debut, "Colombian Preludes," presenta preludios para piano de los compositores colombianos Adolfo Mejía y Guillermo Uribe Holguín. Actualmente se desempeña como pianista colaborativa en Arkansas State University y la Universidad de Mississippi, y llega a UTEP aportando tanto su talento artístico como una profunda conexión personal con la música que interpreta.

The UTEP Latin Music Festival concludes with an exciting performance by internationally acclaimed Mexican guitarist Dr. Ricardo Saeb. A native of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Dr. Saeb returns to the Borderlands for a solo recital celebrating the expressive range and extraordinary voice of the classical guitar.
Dr. Saeb has performed throughout Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, appearing at international festivals and as soloist with orchestras including the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de Chihuahua. His performances have been praised for their balance, subtlety, and spectacular artistry, and his debut solo recording, Zephyr, was released by Fleur de Son Classics.
For Dr. Saeb, a concert is a shared experience between artist and audience—a moment in which music becomes alive and ever-changing. We invite the El Paso and Juárez communities to share that experience as we welcome this remarkable Chihuahuan artist back to our region and bring three days celebrating Latin music at UTEP to a memorable close.

El Festival de Música Latina de UTEP concluye con la destacada participación del guitarrista mexicano de trayectoria internacional Dr. Ricardo Saeb. Originario de Chihuahua, el Dr. Saeb regresa a la región fronteriza para ofrecer un recital como solista que celebra la expresiva y la extraordinaria voz de la guitarra clásica.
El Dr. Saeb se ha presentado en escenarios de América Latina, Europa, el Medio Oriente y los Estados Unidos, participando en festivales internacionales y como solista con orquestas entre las que se encuentran la Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra y la Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de Chihuahua. Sus interpretaciones han sido elogiadas por su equilibrio, sutileza y extraordinario nivel artístico, y su primera grabación como solista, Zephyr, fue publicada por Fleur de Son Classics.
Para el Dr. Saeb, un concierto es una experiencia compartida entre el artista y el público: un momento en el que la música cobra vida y se transforma.
