High School Moot Court Tournament
November 3, 2018
WHERE: Business Administration Building, UTEP campus
In November 2018, the Patti and Paul Yetter Center for Law hosted its ninth High School Moot Court Tournament. Over forty students from several high schools participated in the tournament, which included one main competition with teams advancing to additional rounds. This competition challenged students to act as attorneys in presenting oral argument, demonstrating their ability to construct sound legal arguments and exercising their presentation abilities. The moot court problem, rules, and logistics were created from the ground up. The Center for Law is grateful for the help of attorneys from the local bar who served as judges, and for the LSPI students who assisted with tournament logistics.
Congratulations to all of the teams that competed. The winning team was Creekview High School from Carrollton, Texas. El Paso's Northwest Early College High School took the second and third places.
The Center for Law will host its tenth High School Moot Court Tournament during the 2019 fall semester.
Currently, registration is closed.
