Moral and Political Philosophy at the Border Conference
The Moral and Political Philosophy at the Border Conference is a two-day international, refereed conference at the University of Texas at El Paso that will run from April 26th through April 27th of 2019. The conference aims to highlight philosophical research in moral, social, and political philosophy, and one of the central aims of the conference is to enrich dialogue at the border about issues such as immigration and human rights.
The conference will feature paper presentations from graduate students and faculty, in addition to an undergraduate poster session on the second day of the conference. The keynote speakers for 2019 are Dr. Sukaina Hirji (Virginia Tech), and Dr. Christine Straehle (The University of Ottawa).
The Moral and Political Philosophy at the Border Conference is made possible through generous support from Hypatia, Minorities and Philosophy (MAP), as well as support from UTEP’s Center for Inter-American and Border Studies, Humanities Program, Liberal Arts Honors Program, Department of Religious Studies, the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects.
