Master's Programs
The University of Texas at El Paso’s location on the U.S./Mexico border provides a unique opportunity to investigate how an intersection of nationalities, cultures, and languages affects cognitive processes and behaviors. These issues permeate nearly all of our academic and scholarly activities including classroom instruction, research, and community placements. The Psychology Department offers a variety of graduate programs and concentrations so students can tailor their graduate studies in preparation for their future career goals. At the Master's level, we offer a M.A. program in Psychology that is research intensive, providing students with a chance to engage in research within a laboratory under the supervision of research faculty. This program prepares students for careers in research or to go onto doctoral programs.
We accept students once a year. New students are admitted to begin during the fall semester only. Applications for admission are due December 1st.
The department has an exceptional record of helping place our students in excellent academic and applied positions following graduation. To see where some of our previous students have gone after they received their degrees please visit our Alumni Employment page.
