Research Symposium
The College of Liberal Arts successfully hosted its first annual Research Symposium on Friday, March 6, 2026, bringing together faculty, students, and staff to celebrate graduate research and academic achievement. Held at the Tomas Rivera Conference Center, the event spotlighted the work of our students and faculty through an engaging poster session
Throughout the afternoon, attendees explored a diverse range of research topics, including women’s studies, music in education, Latina/o communities, disability studies, the El Paso-Juárez region, and more. The conference-style format allowed students to present their work visually while engaging in meaningful, one-on-one conversations about their research, creative processes, and the broader impact of their scholarship.
The symposium featured projects supported by several fellowships and awards, highlighting the college’s continued investment in student research and scholarly development. By creating space for dialogue and discovery, the Research Symposium emphasized the importance of diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary work within the College of Liberal
Arts, while celebrating the dedication and innovation of its graduate students.
