Free COVID-19 Testing for Symptomatic and High-Risk Individuals Offered at UTEP

Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, if you have COVID-19 symptoms or are at high risk for severe illness, pregnant, or have had close contact with a person who is infected, you can be tested for COVID-19 at the UTEP Testing Site located at 3333 N. Mesa from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The only drive-up entrance to the site will be from Sun Bowl Drive at Kern Drive.

The site is sponsored by the City of El Paso in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Increasing Community Access to Testing program (CDC ICATT) and LTS Emergency Response.

Who Can Be Tested?

Free testing will be available for students, employees and the general public who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Individuals who are symptomatic
  • Exposed to COVID-19
  • High-risk medical condition
  • Pregnant women

Insurance is not required, but insurance information will be requested and billed for those who are insured.

Types of Tests and Results

Testing options include rapid antigen or PCR tests. The rapid antigen test will take approximately 2 hours for the results to be shared with you. Results from the PCR test will be available within 24-48 hours after the sample was collected. Results will be sent via email and/or text.

For questions about test results, call 800-402-0000 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST) Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (EST) Saturday.

No appointment is necessary. Registration will take place on site. You will not need to register again if you revisit the site.

Dedicated Drive-Up Lane for UTEP Miners

In addition to lanes for the general public, the testing site will offer a dedicated lane for UTEP students, employees and their household members in the same vehicle. A valid Miner Gold Card is required to access the UTEP lanes.

On-Campus Testing for UTEP Students
