Temporary Changes to Cross Parking Beginning July 8

The University of Texas at El Paso’s Office of Parking and Transportation Services will implement a special cross parking plan beginning July 8 through Aug. 15, 2022, for all current and valid parking permit holders. During this time, parking rules and regulations will continue to be enforced.


Surface lot and parking garage cross parking plan:

7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Friday: ANY vehicle with a valid/current parking permit can park in any surface lot (remote green, perimeter blue, premium silver), Sun Bowl Parking Garage, or Schuster Parking Garage with the following exceptions:

  • Reserved (numbered) parking spaces
  • Meters/visitor lot spaces (HA1, SBG-V, OR1-V)
  • Inner Campus orange parking lots (UN1, UN4, RA1, DO1, WI2, WI3, WI5, RI1-RI6, OR1)
  • Inner campus red parking lots (UN2, UN3, KE1, WI4, SB2, EL1, SB9, HG1)
  • Remote brown parking lot (GR4)

3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Friday: ANY vehicle with a valid/current parking permit can park in any inner campus surface lot (orange or red) with the following exceptions:

  • Reserved (numbered) parking spaces
  • Meters/visitor lot spaces (HA1, SBG-V, OR1-V)

ADA parking space cross parking plan:

ANY vehicle with a valid/current parking permit (including UTEP ADA permit) can be used with an ADA placard or plate (including DV plates) in any surface lot (remote green, perimeter blue, premium silver, inner campus orange), Sun Bowl Parking Garage, or Schuster Parking Garage with the following exceptions:

  • Reserved (numbered) parking spaces
  • Inner campus red parking lots (UN2, UN3, KE1, WI4, SB2, EL1, SB9, HG1)
  • Remote brown parking lot (GR4)

There are three designated parking lots for visitors. They are located in front of the Mike Loya Academic Services Building, at the Sun Bowl Parking Garage (first floor, south entrance), and at the Oregon Street/University Towers parking lot. Parking rates are available on an hourly or all day basis. The parking fee is paid using the kiosks located in the visitor lots.
