Schuster Construction Advances, Affects Miner Heights Complex
Beginning at 3 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, the south side of Schuster Avenue will close between Oregon Street and Hawthorne Street as the City of El Paso begins phase four of the seven-phase plan to reconstruct and improve Schuster Avenue.
The newly completed lanes on the north side of the street will reopen at 6 a.m. Dec. 1.
Traffic will be reduced to single lane, two-way traffic on the north side of the street between Hawthorne and Oregon. Access to the driveways at Miner Heights will be limited once construction begins in this area. Occupants will receive communication from Housing and Residence Life with further details.
The work is part of the City of El Paso’s Schuster Avenue Reconstruction Project. The project, which began in late September 2022, includes full street reconstruction and improvements on Schuster Avenue between Prospect Street and Campbell Street.
This construction may impact students, employees and visitors traveling along the street. Please plan accordingly and allot extra time when traveling to and parking on campus.
Completion of phase four is estimated for March 2024.
