Schuster Construction Moves East, Affects HA1 Parking Lot
On Thursday, June 15, the north side of Schuster Avenue will close between Oregon Street and Hawthorne Street as the City of El Paso begins phase three of the seven-phase plan to reconstruct and improve Schuster Avenue.
The north side of the intersection at Schuster and Hawthorne will also close, eliminating access to the Hawthorne 1 parking lot at the Mike Loya Academic Services Building. The YWCA University Heights Early Learning Academy will be accessible from Rim Road and Randolph Drive.
Traffic will be reduced to single lane, two-way traffic on the south side of the street between Hawthorne and Oregon.
This construction may impact students, employees and visitors traveling along the street. Please plan accordingly and allot extra time when traveling to and parking on campus.
Completion of phase three is estimated for August 2023.
