The National Network of Education Research Practice Partnerships has admitted The University of Texas at El Paso’s Paso del Norte Partnership for Education Research (PDNPER) into its group.

Holly Fields, Ed.D., assistant director for research-practice partnerships in UTEP's College of Education, said a recent announcement by the National Network of Education Research Practice Partnerships that it had admitted UTEP's Paso del Norte Partnership for Education Research (PDNPER) into its group will help PDNPER achieve its goals. The network, which has about 50 members, based its decision on the collaboration between UTEP, the region’s school districts and community agencies focused on student success.

The network, which has 49 members, based its decision on the relationship among UTEP, the region's school districts and community agencies focused on student success. The PDNPER, UTEP's College of Education research-practice partnership, works with a diverse group of professionals to develop long-term cooperative agreements to conduct research that ultimately will improve and transform the educational outcomes of this region's school children. While the PNDPER has formal agreements with the Clint, El Paso, Tornillo and San Elizario school districts, all 12 of the region's public school districts are involved with the partnership.

Holly Fields, Ed.D., assistant director for research-practice partnerships in UTEP’s College of Education, said that the PDNPER’s membership with the network will help it to achieve its overall goal to develop, support and connect research-practice partnerships in education to improve productivity.

Fields said that the network will provide the staff, students and faculty of UTEP’s College of Education with additional resources specific to their research interests, as well as opportunities to participate in events geared toward research-practice partnerships.

“We believe that this membership will only continue to enhance the research efforts of the University and, most importantly, help to achieve a positive impact of the lives of the children in our community,” Fields said.
