What drew you to UTEP? It was a good choice, financially and all my family has attended UTEP. So, I carried on the tradition.

What have you enjoyed most about studying here? I like the environment and landscape. Our campus is unique in its location in the mountains. I have also made long-lasting friends. The people are very friendly.

In which extracurricular activities are you involved? I am in the UTEP band, as well as the co-ed honorary band fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi.

What has been your favorite class so far, and why? Chemistry I and the accompanying lab. I have always enjoyed chemistry and the lab work associated with it.

What are your career aspirations? I want to do veterinary medicine. I enjoy the lab setting and want to pursue the more chemical and medicinal aspect of veterinary practices.

What’s your favorite UTEP event, and why? I like to follow the basketball teams and the NCAA tournament. It’s a fun experience, especially when I accompany the band.

What advice would you give to an incoming UTEP student? Take the classes that you want to take. Take chances but do what you feel comfortable with and what makes you happy.

What is your best UTEP memory so far? When I went to San Antonio for the state UIL championship. We were the exhibition band, the first one in eight years for the University. So, we got to see the best high schools in the state of Texas compete.
