The UTEP community should be aware of the following closures that will impact the campus for several weeks.
Texas Gas Service to Begin Next Phase of Schuster Avenue Construction
Texas Gas Service and the City of El Paso are beginning work on the next phase of a project that will replace a gas line on Schuster Avenue. The construction project started Jan. 27 and is expected to last eight weeks.
Motorists may see intermittent lane and intersection closures on Schuster Avenue between Hawthorne Street and Campbell Street. The Sun Bowl-University Roundabout will be reduced to one lane as crews with Texas Gas Service conduct gas-line work in the area.
Traffic will also be reduced to one lane on Sun Bowl Drive northbound beginning at the SB1 parking lot. One right lane will also be closed on University Avenue eastbound from the Sun Bowl-University Roundabout to the traffic control station. (view map)
