The University of Texas at El Paso President Heather Wilson will present the annual State of the University address in two radio broadcasts on KTEP-FM (88.5).

The initial broadcast of President Wilson’s address will be at at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. An encore presentation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. The program will include remarks from President Wilson followed by a Q&A session conducted by KTEP News Director and Emmy-winning multimedia journalist Angela Kocherga.

In her address, President Wilson will talk about the past year’s accomplishments, upcoming goals of the University, the questions that remain due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the steps the University will continue to take to address these challenges.

The move to a radio format this year is one more way in which the University is carrying on with its mission to teach and conduct research in a safe manner, even in the presence of disease. It also hearkens to a long tradition of radio programming at UTEP as the University’s radio broadcasting program marks its 75th anniversary this year, and KTEP – located on the University campus – celebrates its 70th anniversary.
