The spring sessions, which will be offered via Zoom, will include courses about movies, music, history, healthy cooking, art history, foreign languages, and expanded physical fitness activities, to name a few. While many of the courses will be new, OLLI will offer several student favorites such as painting, yoga and tai chi.

One additional program is a collaboration with the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation (RGCF) where the foundation will offer scholarships to students with specific needs to participate in some selected OLLI courses. These classes, which include meditation, wellness workshops, chair and hand yoga, and personal empowerment, support the overall health and healing of mind, body and spirit.

Lynn Provenzano, OLLI’s executive director, said she expects large numbers of students to sign up for classes that involve art, music, movies, travel and history as well as the physical fitness programs.

“OLLI strives to diminish isolation in these pandemic times and to create social connection albeit by phone and/or online classes,” Provenzano said.

OLLI’s spring registration will run Jan. 5-22, 2021. The courses will be offered in two sessions Feb. 1-March 12, and April 5-May 7, 2021.
