Research labs and centers such as the Cyber Physical Systems Privacy and Security Enhanced Computing (CYPSEC) Lab offer the resources to conduct in-depth study and address the modern challenges of data science processes.

Deepak K. Tosh brings experience as a Department of Defense cybersecurity researcher to his teaching. He is an expert in designing secure solutions for civilian, military and critical infrastructure applications. His recent efforts contributed to the acquisition of a $5 million grant to establish the Hopper-Dean Foundation Center of Excellence for K-12 Computer Science Education at UTEP.
Experts in data and information sciences work in almost every industry, but UTEP grads specialize in finding jobs with government agencies such as the FBI, NSA, CIA, Air Force Research Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories, among others.
