Students in the Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering program further their research in and knowledge of manufacturing systems and go on to work in jobs that ensure quality products and services for a wide variety of businesses. Students have the opportunity to conduct research at UTEP’s Research Institute for Manufacturing and Engineering Systems and work on Industry Projects through TMAC Paso del Norte, the local MEP center.

Many doors have opened for Jose Garcia Marquez because of his experience in the manufacturing engineering master’s program. As a student, he researched Industry 4.0 programming with a focus on programmable logic controlling programming and systems integration. His skills and education led to an internship as an electrical and manufacturing engineer with First Texas Product. He recently joined the team at Cummins Inc., a multinational engineering corporation – all thanks to the in-demand skills he nurtured as a UTEP student.
Graduates of the manufacturing engineering master’s program go on to support successful and efficient product development in a wide range of industries, including systems engineering and aircraft manufacturing.
