UTEP’s Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) manages UTEP’s intellectual property and facilitates the transfer of technologies into commercial products.
We work closely with UTEP innovators to identify and evaluate patentable inventions, develop patent prosecution strategies for complex portfolios of inventions.
Through our marketing campaigns and outreach programs, we identify potential licensees and start-up opportunities to promote UTEP intellectual property to industry.
We draft, negotiate, and manage all commercialization agreements surrounding UTEP intellectual property, including confidentiality agreements, options, license agreements, and collaboration agreements.
We provide educational resources to UTEP faculty and student innovators, assist start-ups with new company formation and businesses plan development, and provide fundraising and resource matching activities.
