Genomic Analysis Core Facility
The GENOMIC ANALYSIS CORE FACILITY specifically contributes to the BBRC through its support of researchers’ increasing need for genomic research tools including Sanger sequencing, qRT-PCR, Next Generation Sequencing and sophisticated nucleic acid analysis software. The Genomic Analysis Analysis Core Facility is available to all BBRC faculty, staff, and students, as well as external users from UTEP and other research institutions in the El Paso region.
Most of the Core equipment is accessible as a shared resource, operating on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis, at no charge to the users. The Core provides equipment including thermocyclers for gradient PCR and qRT-PCR, storage PhosphorImager, UV/VIS and fluorescence spectrophotometers, SpeedVac concentrator, and digital gel documentation system.
Core personnel provide oversight and training in the proper use of the equipment. The Genomic Analysis Core Facility also provides service on a recharge basis for DNA sequencing (on a full-service or ready-to-run basis).
