For generations, UTEP education graduates have gone on to lead in classrooms and campuses from K-12 to higher education, in communities around the world.
The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Learning and Development offers two pathways for students seeking a degree in the field of education: one leading to Texas teacher certification and another for students who aim to prepare for a career in various areas such as after school programs, nonprofit work, early childhood intervention, and community outreach.
Students enrolled in the BA will choose from three certification levels: Elementary Education (EC-6), Middle Grades Education (4-8), and All-Level Special Education (EC-12).
ADD: Students who aspire to teach high school should select a major in the subject they desire to teach. They will then pursue a minor in the College of Education that will prepare students for certification. .
As an undergraduate education major, you will be supported throughout your academic journey by the college’s Center for Student Success, which will provide the guidance and resources you will need to complete your academic training and set you on track to a successful career.
Apply what you learn in the classroom to real-world challenges, and build your professional network.
