We're here to help make each step toward becoming a UTEP Miner a smooth experience. Below are the immediate steps you need to complete before you begin attending UTEP.
If you are an international student, click here.
Let us know you accept our offer of admission and plan to attend UTEP. You will need your UTEP ID number to accept our offer. You can find your Student ID on your acceptance letter.
New Student Orientation is required and free to all new students. At orientation you will learn about your major, connect with your academic advisor, and register for classes. You will also have the opportunity to discover student services and resources, and meet current UTEP students.
To register for orientation, log into your MyStatus portal at mystatus.utep.edu, and select the session that works best for you. If you have trouble registering for an orientation session call the Office of New Student Orientation at 915-747-6752. Orientation sessions fill quickly and close in advance.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to award federal grants, loans, work-study, and certain scholarships, and can be filed now for the 2019-2020 school year. We encourage you to file right away. UTEP’s Federal School Code is 003661. If you have already applied, you can check your Financial Aid status by logging into mystatus.utep.edu.
If you have any questions about Financial Aid or documents that you are being asked to submit, please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid as soon as possible or by calling 915-747-5204.

All UTEP students are required to set up a UTEP account to access e-mail and student portals. After you attend orientation, all official university communication will be sent to your new UTEP e-mail. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the UTEP HelpDesk at 915-747-5257.
As you make the transition to becoming a member of the Miner nation and completing your high school diploma, please remember to submit copies of your final high school transcripts showing your high school graduation and final grades. Transcripts must be sent from your high school to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment to allow you to register for future courses.
Transcripts can be submitted electronically through the Texas Records Exchange (TREx), sent form another secure electronic platform to submit@utep.edu, or mailed directly to:
