With more than $221 million in financial aid awarded each year, 69% percent of UTEP undergraduates receive financial aid. We strive hard everyday to ensure that college stays affordable for you and your family. We do all of this while ensuring educational excellence. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) takes your family’s tax information into account to determine the types of financial assistance you’ll may be eligible in order to assist with college costs. You won’t be able to secure any need-based assistance until you’ve filed—so don’t wait.

Are you a member of the military? The Department of Defense provides tuition assistance to eligible military members enrolled at UTEP. Learn more about this and other opportunities for assistance here.
We will not let financial challenges stand in the way of students discovering their potential or achieving a UTEP degree. The Paydirt Promise program covers tuition and mandatory fees for eligible students with a family income of $80,000 or less! The Paydirt Promise covers tuition and mandatory fees based on the student's financial need through a combination of federal financial aid, state and institutional funds (Federal Pell, state funds, scholarships and other gift aid). Any remaining tuition and mandatory fees not covered by these programs will be covered by the Paydirt Promise!
