What you wear to an interview can mean the difference between getting an offer for your ideal job or settling for a third-best choice. An interviewer’s first impression of how you look is important, so make it count!
Business professional attire is essential when attending a business event, however not every student has access to the resources that would allow them to present themselves professionally. The UTEP Career Closet provides currently enrolled students with professional clothing for interviews, networking events, and other occasions where they need to make a positive first impression.
Who can use this service?
The Career Closet is a free lending service available to currently enrolled UTEP students with activated Job Mine accounts. Students can check-out up to one full outfit at a time (for example, one full suit, a shirt, and a tie).
Check-in & Check-out schedule
Days and times are M-F 8:15am-1:00pm & 2:00pm-4:30pm.
Depending on availability, the Career Closet carries women’s sizes: 2 to 20 and men’s size: 36R to 48R. If there are any questions on the fit of professional business attire, we can help you identify your size(s).
You will have seven (7) calendar days to use checked out items. There is no limit to the number of times a student may check-out items per fall or spring semesters.
Before returning the items, they must be dry cleaned by a professional dry cleaning business with an itemized receipt attached. The receipt must contain the renter’s name and all rented items; items will not be accepted for return without a receipt.
Failure to Return
A hold will be placed on the student’s Goldmine and Job Mine accounts if items are not returned by the due date. A Career Closet hold will prevent students from registering for classes and/or purchasing an official academic transcript. We reserve the right to deny access to this service.
Replacement & Condition of Items
If an item is not returned or is returned damaged, a replacement fee will be charged. The replacement value for each item will be discussed during the initial visit. Payments are accepted via check made payable to the University Career Center.
