Working through college is a tradition for many UTEP students. UTEP student employees play a key role as they support the University in many functions.
In addition to securing monies to offset educational costs, working on the UTEP campus allows student employees to grow personally and professionally and to make meaningful connections with fellow students, staff and faculty.

National Student Employee Appreciation Week
April 3-7, 2023
Each year colleges and universities across the country recognize the importance of the student-employee experience during National Student Employment Week. Student employment offers students career-enhancing opportunities that allow them to ultimately pursue and articulate personal, professional, and/or career goals. Join us as we recognize our student workforce and enhance awareness of student employment and its important role in the higher education experience!

Student Employment
These are hourly positions available within the different departments on the UTEP campus. Students typically work 19 hours a week and are paid at least minimum wage. These types of positions are in NO way connected to financial aid or financial need.

Work Study
A need-based employment program. You must have received and accepted this type of aid via your financial aid award packet. Students typically work 15-19 hours a week and typically earn minimum wage.

Internships
Positions related or not related to your major that can be part-time or volunteer with a minimum of 120 working hours per semester.
Co-Op internships are those that are +120 hours/semester.

Research Jobs
Opportunities for students to work with faculty members and community organizations on numerous projects. Each position is unique to the project's focus and college. Speak with your advisor for more information.

Jobs Abroad
Study abroad, study away or faculty-led academic and cultural experiences are credit-based and include a culminating experience in which students obtain increased understanding of his/her academic discipline, language proficiency, field research techniques, service learning or career-related knowledge.
