Gene Salgado, Costume Shop Manager/Costume Designer
Gene Salgado is an alumnus of UTEP with a degree in Theatre and experience in acting, costume design, and directing. While at UTEP, he received the Albert C. Ronke Best Student Designer Award from the Department of Theatre Arts and Film. Since then, he has worked with various theatre companies across the US: including Shawnee Theatre of Greene County (IN), Duke City Repertory (NM), Black Hills Playhouse (SD), Illinois Wesleyan University (IL), and Theatre for Young Audiences/USA. As a local wardrobe and wig technician, he has worked with numerous touring Recording Artists, Broadway musicals, Dance, and Ice-Skating shows for over 15 years. UTEP Dinner Theatre credits include: The Music Man, 20th Anniversary Concert- Jesus Christ Superstar, Bat Boy the musical, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Full Monty, A Grand Night for Singing, Cats, Miss Saigon, The UTEP Holiday Spectacular, Hair, 25th Anniversary Concert Celebrating Sir Tim Rice, Ain’t Misbehavin’, The Producers, Rent, Singin’ in the Rain, Titanic, The Wedding Singer, Into the Woods, Head over Heels.
