Miners Leadership Initiative
Overview
The Miner Leadership Initiative, an emerging leaders’ program (ELP) for first time, first year students that supports the development and engagement of emerging student leaders as they transition to the university. The program is designed to develop and enhance the professional marketable skills of leaders enabling them to effectively develop and implement solutions to real-world challenges.
This program, spread over one semester, consists of a series of topics on essential skills in leadership: communication, team building, conflict management, and persuasion & influence.
The Miner Leadership Initiative is a recognized high-impact experience focused on leadership development. The program involves a high level of engagement through group activities as well as personal reflection and assessment.
Workshops and Activity
Students must participate in a total of 4 workshops and activate their Handshake account to successfully complete the program. Students can choose one of the additional workshops and receive credit towards the completion of the program.

- Creation of a Handshake Account

Recognition of Completion :
- Students will receive a Certificate and an Orange Pick lapel pin upon completion of the program.
