Dr. Jaime Acosta is a Professor and the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) South Site Lead at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he also serves as an affiliated faculty member in the Department of Computer Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UTEP in 2009.
His work centers on advancing cybersecurity research and innovation through collaboration with faculty, federal agencies, and industry partners. Dr. Acosta leads efforts to address complex cyber challenges by organizing and engaging in innovation exercises, hackathons, and beyond–state-of-the-art research initiatives that foster real-world problem solving and interdisciplinary collaboration.
With a focus on bridging academic research and applied defense technology, his work contributes to developing innovative cybersecurity solutions that enhance system resilience and operational readiness.
