Texas Success Initiative (TSI), General Studies, START, Nursing freshmen, Programa Interamericano Estudiantil (PIE), Junior Scholars, German Abitur, UTCAP, guest/transfer students, College of Liberal Arts majors in the humanities and social sciences (freshman and sophomore), College of Education freshmen, CBBA (Business students who have not completed the required core math and writing requirement), and College of Health Sciences freshmen.
Not every major requires advising. Prior to each semester students will need log onto https://my.utep.edu/. Next select the Goldmine link. Then click on Student Records, and finally click on View Holds.

Yes. Students will be advised, to prepare them for registration during freshman orientation.
Students may obtain a degree plan at their major department, on the department’s website or by using Degree Evaluation tool on Goldmine. Students should also meet with their department advisor or AAC advisor for additional clarification about courses.
