Center for Free Enterprise — Economic Education
Practical money skills for high school students, delivered by C4FE faculty and research assistants — before the first paycheck, not after the first costly mistake.
Nearly 74% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck — not because they don’t earn enough, but because no one ever taught them how to manage money. This workshop changes that.
The Personal Financial Literacy Workshop teaches high school students the money skills that shape a lifetime: reading a paycheck, building a budget, saving with purpose, using credit and debt wisely, protecting themselves with insurance, and understanding how investing and compounding work.
The goal is practical, immediately useful knowledge delivered at exactly the right moment — before students make the costly mistakes that come from never having been taught.
Workshops are held on the UTEP campus at the Woody L. Hunt College of Business. Groups can arrange a visit to attend a session with C4FE faculty and research assistants.
This is one of several workshops the Center for Free Enterprise offers. Groups interested in a different topic are welcome to inquire — contact C4FE to discuss what’s available.
